Camnal Equips the World’s First 400 m Suspended Rope-Climbing Challenge

On 1–2 November, the “Xiamixi” cliff at Qixing Mountain in Zhangjiajie, China hosted what organisers described as the world’s first 400-metre suspended rope-climbing challenge, known as Peak 400. Fifty-three experienced rope climbers from across China took on a vertical drop equivalent to a 130-storey building, relying entirely on ropes for their safety.

Camnal took part as a core sponsor, providing professional equipment for the event and supporting the team from Guiyang Information Technology College, which achieved strong results.

Why events like this matter for equipment makers

A 400 m ascent places sustained, repetitive load on harnesses, connectors and rope-handling devices. Events of this kind are a demanding real-world environment in which to observe how equipment performs over hours of continuous use – feedback that flows directly into Camnal’s product development.

Our commitment

Camnal was founded on the principle of “safety first”. Supporting the climbing and rope access community, from training to elite challenges, is part of how we keep that promise.
